Anker PowerIQ

Anker's PowerIQ fast-charging technology works a little differently from other fast-charging technologies. It works with most devices that support fast charging. PowerIQ identifies the connected device and selects suitable power parameters to optimize charging speed within the supported voltage and current ranges. It is compatible with the most common fast charging protocols: Apple 5V2.4A, QC, PD, PPS.

 

There are 5 generations of PowerIQ (PIQ):

• PowerIQ 1.0 (5V2.4A) - up to 12W (USB-A - Micro-USB/Lightning cable).

• PowerIQ 2.0 = PIQ 1.0 + compatibility with QC 3.0 (5V1A, 5V2.4A, 5V2A, 9V2A, 12V1.5A) - up to 18W (USB-A - USB-C/Micro-USB/Lightning cable).

• PowerIQ 3.0 = PIQ 2.0 + PD 3.0, PPS (5V2.4A, 9V3A, 15V3A, 20V5A, PPS 5-11V5A) - up to 100W (USB-C - USB-C cable).

• PowerIQ 4.0 = PIQ 3.0 + Dynamic Power Distribution (automatically detects the power needs of connected devices, adjusts output power, and reduces overall charging time by dynamically redistributing available power between devices). For example, Anker successfully implemented PowerIQ 4.0 technology with the charging adapter Anker Prime 240W GaN Desktop Charger.​

• PowerIQ 5.0 - a further development of Dynamic Power Distribution: the system automatically identifies the power needs of connected devices and redistributes power between ports every 2 minutes.
