Anker GaN Prime 240W (3C1A)

Key product benefits:
  • The most high-tech charging adapter in the collection:

    • Color screen with charge power indicator (total and for each port), the screen can be turned off

    • Built-in gyroscope automatically rotates the screen depending on the position of the adapter (can be locked)

    • Display modes can be switched using the touch button

    • Several charging modes:

      • AI mode (dynamic power distribution between ports)

      • Standard (with priority for port C1)

      • Dual notebook mode (70W+70W)

      • Custom (you decide how much power to reserve for each port and see which charging protocols will be available)

    • Bluetooth connection to your smartphone! Killer feature:

      • The app makes it easy to configure (create custom combinations of power distribution between ports) and switch charging modes.

      • Adapter firmware update.

      • Online monitoring and energy consumption graphs.

      • Determination of the maximum power of the connected USB cable (60W/100W/240W)

  • All three USB-C ports have identical functionality

  • Support for PD3.1 (140W) and AVS EPR protocol is implemented

  • Support for PPS 4.5-21V5A (in modes other than AI mode!) will enable 60W charging for Samsung S26 Ultra and Googe Pixel 9/10 Pro XL - 37W. AI mode is limited to PPS 5-11V5A and this range together with a cable rated for 5A (100W/240W), will provide the fastest possible Super Fast Charge 2.0 45W charging for Samsung S22-S26 (Plus and Ultra versions) smartphones.

  • Anker Power IQ 5.0 - technology for redistributing excess power between ports without interrupting the power supply to connected devices when connecting/disconnecting. This statement is true for PD3.0 charging mode; for PD3.1, uninterrupted power is only guaranteed in Custom mode with power fixed to a selected port.

  • A very compact and lightweight adapter (especially for its power).

  • The EU plug folds down, making the device even more compact when traveling.

  • Good power consumption in standby mode (0.22W according to the passport) - energy efficiency class VI.

  • Premium materials and excellent design.

  • Charging dapter model - A2687

  • Energy conversion efficiency (according to the manual) is about 86.16% (average) and 76.18% (10% load).

  • Load testing: 140W-30min:

    • Ambient temperature 21-23°C

    • The device operates stably.

    • Maximum recorded heating - 67.7°C (inside the UsbC port area)

  • Power distribution between ports:

    • One port: USB-C1, USB-C2, USB-C3 - 140W
      Two ports (C1 priority): USB-C1+USB-C2/3=100W+60W

    • Two ports (Dual laptop): (70W+70W)

    • Three ports (C1 priority): USB-C1+USB-C2/3 = 100W+30W+30W

    • Three ports (dual laptop): (70W+70W+20W)

    • Custom mode - any fixed combination of power distribution within a budget of 160W

  • Weight: 219g

  • Dimensions (mm): 35.3x65.5x66.4 (folded EU plug), (90.1 - unfolded EU plug)

Product drawbacks:
  • In AI mode and Standard mode (USB-C1 priority), PD3.1 is only supported when using 1 port. When a second device (of any power rating) is connected, PD3.1 is disabled completely, and only PD3.0 (100W) is supported. PD3.1 stops working even at low power ratings, e.g., 28W - 28V1A. Only in Custom mode does PD3.1 work without disabling at any power.

  • AI mode supports PPS only in the 5-11V5A range (however, other modes support PPS up to 21V).

  • It is worth mentioning that there is some evidence that the charger can't hold a constant 160W load for longer than 30 min., but it would be a very rare situation in a real case scenario, because electronics almost never draw the full available power from a source continuously, and a 140W load it holds very well.

  • No PD 12V support.

Other product notes:
  • I was unable to update the firmware of my adapter (factory version v0.0.7.3, unable to install v1.5.1.2). But I am sure that this is a temporary problem, as the charger has only just been released, and this bug will be fixed. But even without the updated firmware, the device works stably.
Supported charging protocols claimed by manufacturer:
  • USB-C1/C2/C3: 5V3A, 9V3A, 15V3A, 20V5A, 28V5A, 28V5.36A (150W Max)

  • 2 ports in use 160W Max

UGREEN Nexode 200W (3C1A) X764

Key product benefits:
  • The USB-C1 port supports PD 3.1 with 140W power delivery.

  • PD 12V support. It's useful in case you want to replace the conventional AC-DC 12V adapter with a UsbC-DC cable.

  • Support for the full PPS range of 5-21V/5A, combined with a 5A-rated cable (100W/240W), ensures the fastest possible charging: SFC 2.0 45W for Samsung S22-S26 smartphones (Plus and Ultra versions), SFC 3.0 60W for the Samsung S26 Ultra, and 37W for the Google Pixel 9/10 Pro XL.

  • Energy Efficiency Class VI – very low power consumption in standby mode; there is no need to unplug the charger from the outlet.

  • Load testing: 140W-30min:

    • Ambient temperature 21-23°C

    • Device operation is stable

    • Maximum temperature: 61°C near the USB-A port, and 44°C on the body

  • When a second device is connected to the charger, power to the already connected device is not interrupted (power is interrupted only when using a combination of USB-C3 and USB-A).

  • When multiple USB ports are used simultaneously, power is distributed among the ports according to the following scenarios:

    • 1 port: 140W (C1)/100W (C2)/30W (C3)/22.5W (A)

    • 2 ports: 100W (C1) + 100W (C2) / 100W (C1/C2) + 30W (C2) / 100W (C1/C2) + 22.5W (A) / 15W (C3 + A)

    • 3 ports: 100W (C1) + 60W (C2) + 30W (C3) / 100W (C1) + 60W (C2) + 22.5W (A) / 100W (C1/C2) + 15W (C3+A)

    • 4 ports: 100W(C1)+60W(C2)+15W(C3+A).

  • When using multiple ports, the PPS protocol is available for use by devices.

  • Weight: 409g

  • Dimensions (mm): 35.6 x 76.1 x 75.9 (113.3 with European plug)

Product drawbacks:
  • The adapter is relatively heavy.

  • The USB-C and USB-A ports are interdependent and cut off power when used simultaneously.

  • No AVS EPR protocol support.
